Karbi district — Administrative region during the 14th to 19th centuries, part of the Iravan Khanate.

In the overview book of 1590, it is recorded that there were a total of 73 villages in the Karbi region within the Iravan province of the Ottoman Empire.

In the 18th century, the Armenian catholicos and chronicler Simeon of Iravan mentioned the village of Chatgiran, which was part of the Agjots monastery, situated in the Karpi district, in his work “Cambr.”
